Welcome letter from the Secretary Generals

We are Jooha Park and Chinmayee Srinivasan, and we are proud to serve as Co-Secretary Generals of the Irvine High School Invitational Model United Nations Conference for the 2026-2027 school year. It is our distinguished honor to welcome you all to our conference this October!

This year, our conference will be held on a significant date. October 24th is globally recognized as United Nations Day, which commemorates the founding of the United Nations in 1945. This year, the United Nations celebrates 81 years of initiating global reform and diplomatic processes. We also celebrate three years of carrying out the IHSIMUN Conference.

The IHSIMUN Conference’s theme for this year, The Next Small Step, reflects the historical significance of making fundamental decisions that turn the tides of global affairs, encouraging us to observe how strategic leadership and seemingly small decisions turned into the giant leaps that changed the world as we know it. In this year’s conference, we motivate you to take chances and step out of your comfort zone, so that you can initiate reform and progress.

We sincerely hope that this conference provides all of you with the opportunity to learn essential skills that will be instrumental in your growth as leaders, diplomats, and citizens, whether that be in your community or on a global scale.

Chinmayee Srinivasan

Hello! I’m Chinmayee Srinivasan and I’m honored to serve as your Co-Secretary General for Irvine High’s MUN club! I have been in MUN for two years and have learned so much from it, improving my public speaking skills while making so many connections with people across conferences. Apart from MUN, I also sing and play piano, and I love to read!

Hello! My name is Jooha Park and I am honored to be your Co-Secretary-General at Irvine High’s MUN club this year. This is my third year in MUN, and it opened up countless opportunities for me, including a possible career path in the future. In my free time, I enjoy reading science novels and hanging out with my dog.

Nihaar Gaikwad

Hi! My name is Nihaar Gaikwad and I am so grateful to be Director General this year for IHSMUN. I've been in the club since I started high school and I have enjoyed the social and fun experiences that come with it. Outside of MUN, I am into aviation and I love planes, and I'm into coding as well.
